Today, Blizzard Entertainment's and GomTV (famous SC1 professional league) announced an easily accessible worldwide (players from all over the world can participate) league called the "Global StarCraft II League" (GSL). The league will consists in monthly tournaments ending with a main tournament and world championships. The streaming service will be accessible under GOMTV channel.
The GSL will be held every month starting with an Open Starcraft II League with a total prize pool of 170.000$. A total prize of 500.000$ is planned for the year 2010. Its the most amount of money in the history of e-sports. The winner of the monthly tournament will be given 85.500$ !
